I had the same problem as you...It won't start or work...
installing those programs ->
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update
you may need this service pack installed.
also I installed this Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version
after reset and bootup, It finally Works.
