Any issues or differences to look out for? I would play the windows version, but I don't want to drag my tower upstairs.

It's the same game on all platforms, and the same game you should put down for a better game made by better people.

The dev just posted a great article on how they added Apple Silicon support (November 2022)! I can't post the link at the moment but you can search for "factorio apple silicon blog" and it will be the first result.

I do not have a Mac myself but it looks like they have put in extensive efforts into making the game run the same on each platform they support. So version 1.1.72 might be worth go.
