Have a Saitek X52-Pro Joystick/Thruster control system. The thruster works, HOTAS and all the buttons work, even the X-Axis (Rudder) works fine in the game, but for some wierd reason the Y and Z axis dont function (left/right, up/down). Calibrated the stick in Windows - OK, used a different game in both windowed and full-screen modes - OK.
FA-18 Super Hornet runs like a charm, using Windows Vista x64 w/4GB RAM, Quadcore and SLI - Just the joystick don't.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hey man, curious if you ever got it figured out and working with the joystick? I just downloaded the game, and it runs fine, but I can't get the joystick axis's to work... in fact, I can't even find where to set what does what at all.... basic buttons are recognized, but that's it.... confused.

Still haven't figured it out. Stick only functions when holding down the Z or X key. Cool Game (for its time), but not running it at the moment because of that limitation. I only hope that furture games here don't have these little glitches.
Good luck.
There was a small patch released for this game that addresses joystick issues. Get it from the patches scrolls and try that. I have this game already and I got my Microsoft PP joystick to work in it. The hat switch view is locked at only about 45 degrees to each side so you can't see very far behind you at all which is not very realistic because the F18 has good out of the cockpit visibility.
According to the manual (or at least my reading of it), there's no ability to change bindings. Which is a little annoying. Maybe try setting your joystick with different axes and see if that works. X and Y work on a 360 pad, at any rate. Yeah, yeah, it was the only thing I had nearby.
I actually got it working... tried disabling it and then re-enabling it under preferences and that worked. Good stuff!

I'll give it a whirl ... will let u know ....
Q:
Is it posible to configure key bindings? Like if their is a file hidden somewhere of somenthing anyone is aware of?
I have a logitech Attack 3 and most of the buttons don't work.
Still, I find the game pretty cool.
A:
No you can't but you can bind the configured keycommands to the joystick, so to answer my own question...yes.
