Some way?

Until they redo the engine to utilize a configuration file, no there's no way to skip it. This, like a lot of other of the more configurable hadn't been built to use preconfigured settings, so you have to tell the program each time, unfortunately. Strange really, because several others of the time did use a config file, I don't know why none of the developers for MicroProse games ever did.
