Love everything about this sim. First time playing it and Ive logged anout 8 or 9 missions. However I just cant bring it home. Ive played every modern flight sim out there and a few like Red Baron. Ive never come across anything so difficult as this game when it comes to landings. Im seriously starting to compare it to Il2 1946 carrier landings. I mean heres my general strategy.

F9 on approach. Lower thrust to about 20-30 and put on flaps and gear down. I die. I dont know if going too fast or what. The manual is near useless on this. What do you folks do? Btw Im on easylandings.

Are you keeping the ILS (F9) a prefect plus (ie '+') ? By keeping it a perfect '+' you should be fine. I usually keep the thrust on about 40/50 on approach, and take it down to 30 when I am only about 5kms out, and then cut it completely when I am almost on the runway. Sometimes I even cut the thrust completely when I am still approaching, particularly when I am coming in too fast. Also, don't forget to toggle the brakes, by pressing 0, the moment you touch down. If you are having problems over shooting, then try toggling the brakes even sooner.

Another problem is to get yourself prefectly lined up with the runway on your approach. I think you can use ILS for this as well, but what I usually do is to display the airbase on my right computer screen (by pressing the M , . / keys), which always displays a 3D image of the airbase from your perspective. That means that I can check that I am perfectly aligned with the runway long before I can actually see it from my cockpit.
I was using f9 wrong, i thought i needed to put my crosshair under the horizontal line of the cross. I do overshoot quite a bit. I will try the brakes. I tap them after I land, but never thought about beforehand

Thanks will try out your advice!
Glad to help and good luck!
Tip:

When landing, place the velocityvector at the start of the the runway where you want to touchdown.
