Hullo.

It appears that F117 Nighthawk is my absolute favourite game of all time - well, flight sim at least. Chunky graphics, simple flight model, huge manual, and now that I have MUNT32 MIDI emulator and appropriate ROMS, I've got sound quality I could only dream about from my old Soundblaster in the 90s. I loved this game nearly thirty years ago (wow, has it really been that long?), and is my go-to diversion between working from home, study, and deciding which child we should eat should it come to that, now that we can't go outside...

Sneaking through a narrow corridor between SAM sites on the way to the primary, taking time to admire the external views - yes, nothing happens for a long time in this game, and then everything happens all at once.

Microprose sims were made for lockdown!

Hope everyone is safe - I'm off to bomb an oil refinery and blow a SAM up.

Take care, fellow GOGgers.

I couldn't agree more. I've spent lockdown slowly getting my mission count up to 99, and what a pleasure it's been. This is a zen game, on the same level as 007 Goldeneye with one-kill shots was a zen game (by that I mean: mostly nothing happens, and when it does it happens a ton, and you just have to be present to both of those moments to play well). Both are my favourite games of all time.

PS - I'd be interested to hear any suggestions of games with similar characteristics from others! As clear from the above definition, this is a style that reaches well across game genres (though I have trouble imagining say a football sim delivering the same feeling :))
