I'm planning to get the game before it goes off sale, but before I do, I have a question. I've seen that members of your expedition have personality traits, which may cause them to complain about decisions you make. Is it possible to win them round to your point of view as time progresses (ie for them to change their traits)? Or are you stuck with them? Also, is it possible to remove expedition members and replace them with other people you meet in the game, if it's not working out?

Actually, on a related note, what happens if an expedition member (or you) die?

at the start of the game you get to pick your party from a pre-defined group. I don't think you can make them change their mind but you can avoid picking the ones that are most likely to disagree with you

People don't change who they are. So as gnarbrag suggested, spend some time thinking about what kind of person you want to be and choose a group accordingly. You will encounter some people willing to join you during your expedition.
The only way to get rid of someone who already is part of your team is for them to die. A death will of course negatively affect the moral of everyone else.
You yourself are the commander at the back - you do not participate in combat, therefor you will not randomly die.
Having a higher Leadership skill does mitigate the effects of disagreements and sometimes (only in certain cases) allows you to persuade them to accept a specific decision without complaint, but it won't change their overall outlook (so the next time something like that comes up, they'll be unhappy about it again).

Yes, most of your "interactions" occur in dialogs and text. During that you sometimes engage in "combat" (textually), but I'm pretty sure even when/if you engage in these, you cannot die like that.

Apart from that you're also a spare Doctor for healing purposes (but not during a battle, since you don't have a "character" that can participate in battles as such). So not like Jagged Alliance 2 where your created character is another merc.
