First i request that you ignore my (probably) bad english..it's quiet a time i really had to use it :)

But..back to the topic
After playing several hour's i have to say that this game is heaven&hell at once.

The game has
-a simple, but well thought, rpg-part...enableing the possibillity to specify the strenght and
weaknesses of your SC and his followers.
- easy to use, but to well thought, research&crafting-part
-turnbased tactical fights where good preparations are really rewarded
-dozens of conversations/convesation-events..giving live to your followers
-nice storie(s)
-nice explorationpart with dozens of Events/Contextual Events

and last but not least...your decions have often major implications.

On the other Hand...
-many thinks miss lucency
-the SC skill's are suffering from several bugs and balacing issues
-Navigation can be a Nightmare because
the (Players)sight is blocked by all obstacles
-every few days the game uses bad Campevents to enforce unavoidable losses on you if you're well equipped.
My Problems with those events isn't the caused losses but the way the Event is forced...
Campsecurity, hunting-sucsess,...are supposed to be directly the outcome of the players decisions related to Camp&Follower-managment

But if notice that
-you're party will be robbed for carloads of food the 3.Night, after 2 uneventful Night, independent from you're actions
-you will fail fishing the next 3 times and then get a catch...independet if you're sending the fat scholar who hardly know's how to hold a fishing rod or a Mastertrapper

It gives you the feeling that you're actions&decions are somehow pointless.
Why running after wild pigs, carefully preserving everything, holding up Camp-securitiy,...if you will lose it anyway if you're doing well managing your stock.

Scripts like this are just a cheap and bad way to produce timesink. There many way#s to remove "spare" resources without making the players "work" senseless.

Even simple "on the Road"-Events like "A broken wheel causes the cart to keel over...2 crates with rusk where crushed&spoiled, you loose..XX rations" as long as they aren't just "Overwriting" to the players decions/manegment.
I've got 7 hours in and haven't felt like every third night I'm going to get robbed no matter what like it's some set script. In fact I usually get robbed maybe once in an entire 10+ day expedition. How much are you putting into camp security? I always keep it above 85%.

As far as the on map navigation, my feeling is that it's supposed to be difficult to see. It's a freaking jungle. The fact that you can't just zoom out to god's eye view keeps immersion and forces you to actually value scouting and makes those forays into the unknown jungle more difficult and you have to carefully consider cost vs. reward.

The bugs with the SC stat bonuses need to be fixed ASAP, though. That is annoying.

:) I didn't mean that i got robbed every 3. Night...i was just a example based at a situation where i
i lost a huge ammount of Rations within 6 days...both times 2 peaceful Nights 3. Night robbed, the Campsecurity was at the Maxvalue(95%), because i was halfaway on a(planned to be) long explorationtrip and did not wish to turn back for a resupply i reloaded a old save..8 days in the past and...it happend exactly the same.
I growed curios and played several times through those 8 days...and i had to notice that it was always the same for the important Events losing a cartload of rations at the 5. and 8. Night....independent of the campsecuritylevel, the choosen resting place...even the direction my party marched...no way to avoid the 2 big losses.
I even passed to assign guards completly for 3 times...the only difference was 1 single stolen rope.

And thats my point...if you assign the player to manage the camp and the party..events linked directly to the camp should be the sum of the players decions and preparation...if many or even all important campevents are part of some "unshakable divine Plan of Fate-script"...it feals like being cheated.
If they wan't to destroy some "spare"-resources..it should be done by "Bad Luck-Events" that aren't directly linked to the players actions.

Speaking about the Navigation...my own units in tactical combat, Questobjekts in front of me,...and thinks like that shouldn't be covered by buildings, trees, bushes like this...
But we might have differnt point of view ;)
I'm pretty sure there are some "unshakable divine scripts" as you call them, but they are required for the story to progress and I still think the negative effects of said scripts will be reduced if you have good camp preparation and / or high skills in certain areas that relate to the negatives of that particular event. But a game like this is a balancing act and your party will always have some particular weakness to some kind of negative event until the late game when you have become very powerful.

It could be that my party is good at preventing robbery relative to your party, but that my party has some other weakness. I would say that my survival skills are bad as my party uses a large amount of rations and requires a great deal of gold to keep in food.

This kind of thing is needed if there is to be any kind of variation in the gameplay experience based on how players construct their parties.

If you feel like you're being robbed too often, I'd suggest putting more people on guarding (And less on patrolling, say), and don't camp on the roads.
89% guarding. 2140 valuables stolen...
Damn. Sometimes it just isn't my night :)

I could..but i would be a waste because i am at the max. Guardvalue allready (expect if i would rest at the road)
(Mild Spoiler)

During the second campaign you will have the option to rebuild a fort and add storerooms. You can then stash resources there, protecting them from event-related losses.
