I bought and played Expeditions: Conquistador over a year ago, but real life stuff got in the way and I didn't get to finish it. I installed from the stand-alone installer from my backup drive, but when I try to import it into Galaxy, it says no game found. I played this previously through Galaxy by importing the installation from the stand alone installer, so it used to work. According to the date of my save game, I last played in March 2016. Obviously Galaxy has seen some updates since then, so somewhere along the line something broke.

I've never used Galaxy myself but I'd suggest contacting GOG support if you haven't. Seems to be an issue on their end so I'm sure they can help you troubleshoot.

Did you find an answer for this? Is your backup saved in the same location as the other games which are showing up in Galaxy?

I sent a support ticket right after making the forum post and so far I've only received a "cut-n-paste" reply explaining how to import games. Initially I installed it to my D: drive, but I have tried installing it to the default location Galaxy installs to (which is my SSD), but neither location works. I haven't tried installing it with Galaxy because I'll just have to re-download ~2GB that I already have in the form of the stand-alone installer. It doesn't have Galaxy achievements, I just wanted to keep track of my time played.

I believe this is the first game I ever played with the Galaxy Client back when it first came out in beta, and it worked then.

So the game is already installed on your system, but you want to be able to launch it through Galaxy? Am I understanding that right?

Well, you can wait for GOG support or you can try something that's worked for me.

This may or may not work for you, but here it is:.

I had a few games I had installed without Galaxy. Then, I started using Galaxy and noted that the games I had installed without Galaxy were not showing up as installed through the Galaxy client. I tried to use the import feature, but it didn't work for me. It coudn't seem to locate the games I'd installed without Galaxy.

The games I wanted were installed on the C drive, but I had set Galaxy default location to be on a different drive.

Here's what I did. I guess you could call it manually importing into the Galaxy.

First, I copied the installed game folder I wanted to show up in Galaxy and pasted it to the location where Galaxy automatically put the other installed game folders. The game folder still won't show up as installed in the Library or be listed as ready to play in Galaxy.

Next, while I was signed into Galaxy I went to the Library to the page of the game I wanted to launch through Galaxy.

Then, I hit install. The first thing Galaxy did was check the local files and because I had already placed the game folder where Galaxy would check, it did not download the files again, it simply used what was already there. The download basically started at like 98%, and then Galaxy did some configuring and moving of files.

The game I wanted to launch through Galaxy showed up in the Galaxy client a few minutes later. My saved games were also preserved.

I don't think the time you've already spent playing will show up, but I know it will track it from now on. I didn't have to redownload all those GBs all over again.

This is just something to try if you like. Keep a copy of your game folder and saves in the original location in case it doesn't work.

I had success with this method several times using the Galaxy client on my WIndows 7 system. Maybe it can help you too, but try it at your own risk.
