(This is substantially the content of my review, which is still under validation).

The game seems nice and pleasant, I played it for few hours, until the 1st battle in the temple (not counting the tutorial battle).

I would like to go further, but ...

It is very very slow and unresponsive. While this is not a big deal while exploring, it makes combat unpleasant and way too long.
This is not due to graphics settings, I reduced them to minimal, even the resolution in 1024x768, to no avail combat is still sluggish. I also tried to set compatibility mode in windows xp and 7, I tried windowed mode ...

My computer can run Witcher 3 and Ashes of the Singularity (to name but a few) at full graphics, and I just updated the drivers (25 april 2017 drivers for a game from 2013 should be ok, right ?)

I found an old post talking about memory size (3GB/2GB), but I will not change my system settings just for one game.

If anyone has another suggestion ...

This is not engaging for Expeditions Viking ...

Edit: I have seen a video from 2013 where everything is pleasently fluid. Not sure what's the problem. Not future proof code maybe ?

Edit2: made other trials, none worked:
* verify files from Gog galaxy
* uninstalled, and re-installed from the downloaded setup.exe (on gog website) ...
* installed in the standard "Program Files (x86)", although on my D drive (not C).

Edit3: tried with older drivers as the newer ones have issues with some (old) games, but no chance.

I have noticed the framerate appears quite low when moving around normally however in combat I have no issues and everything is smooth. Not fast because of generally slow animations, but smooth. Would love to have a "zip mode option" ala XCOM with sped up animations. It is a bit of a weird throwback to days gone when the game appears choppy while I'm playing on a g-sync monitor with gtx 1080-level hardware.
Hello, thanks for the answer.

Btw I'm running a computer with Windows 10 64 bits and an Nvidia GTX970.

I found a workaround, here is the story:

Nvidia released new drivers 2 days ago (382.05), and Expedition Conquistador work perfectly with them, hourrah. So it was indeed an issue with the drivers themselves. (I tried several restarts + 1 restart of my computer to check the smoothness was consistent and not due to some luck).

Also I see that it is not only fps that is droped but the whole that is slow: Interface, animation, loading time.

That said, Mech Commander had an issue (0 bytes reported video ram), as with the 381.89.

Knowing that with 373.06, Mech Commander was running well, I tried an intermediary one: 375.95, and with this one both games work correctly.

My list:
373.06-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql: MCO OK, Expedition Conquistador NG
375.95-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql: MCO OK, Expedition Conquistador OK
381.89-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql: MCO NG, Expedition Conquistador NG
382.05-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql: MCO NG, Expedition Conquistador OK
