Playing for awhile (I haven't figured out what triggers it, possibly battles?) in Mexico causes the map to look horribly corrupted, and crashes the game after a short time.

Reloading the game makes my entire map disappear, so I'll be plopped into the middle of the continent with zero map guidance.

Any way to keep this from happening?

Edit: It has to do with switching into and out of battle mode. Are there settings that I can lower to make it stop hemorrhaging like this?

I had the same problem. Reducing texture quality to half seems to fix it
