Having a little trouble with evil genius, just purchased it a few hours ago, however it's unplayable due to the game freezing up, then black screening for a few seconds, then unfreezing itself..and does so every few minutes. I've not found a solution anywhere.

Just a shot out of the blue, does it do it every 10 minutes? The game autosaves every 10 minutes at the default setting. You can try turning this off seeing if it helps.

Turning off video hints may also help.

I honestly don't think it's that, after testing it out on a few save games, after i get a few rooms then it really starts doing it more often. On one of my games before the control room and the barracks was even built, the game couldn't handle it for some reason...
