Different developer of course. Evil Genius was developed by Elixir Studios. Evil Genius 2 will be made by Rebellion (who own the ip now).

This is awesome. Rebellion has a good track record from way back so hopefully there's a good chance it will improve on all the things that EG didn't quite get right, while keeping all the stuff that made it cool and (hopefully) without dumbing things down or adding stupid mechanics to it.
