Are their any "proper" cheats that work in the GOG version? I have seemed to run out of money while my base is under attack and most of my minions are dead. Hmm. Any ideas?

Money cheat seems like to work.(at least in my game)
If you don't want to use the developer built in cheats (I'm not sure what you mean't by proper, but I assume the answer above satisfies it if you meant that). There is a kind of bug that you can exploit in that the any one faction will only actually send 2 teams of troopers at you. So if you annoy only one faction at a time, capture 1 member of their trooper squad, twice, then keep these guys in your prison, they won't bother you any more. In order to stop them escaping then either have a load of guards in the room to recapture, or constantly send them to the mixing bowl, then when they're done, back to prison (you have to manually retag them, but they go without a fight).

This works for keeping the super agents at bay too (mixing bowl method).
Thanks for the help. I'll have to try out this developer mode thing that everyone is talking about...

sorry no - developer mode - I meant the solution Fairon suggested. i.e. they were written for the developers.

There are TWO ways to cheat. The easy way is to type HUMANZEE in game and then use one of the codes found on the link Fairon posed above.

The second way is more complicated but gives you access to more cheats. I forget the specific method, but it involves editing the INI file and adding a cheat section. You can then access in game many more cheats (also easily found by Googling Evil Genius cheats). Generally, HUMANZEE (the simple cheats) work best unless you just want to tinker with things.

It is a great game I only just discovered on GOG. Have fun :)
There is an exploit you can use for easy money, somehow it feels better than outright cheating.

When you start a game (Island 1) they won't send any agents to your island until you capture the maid (except for one group the game sends right at the start, just kill em). As long as you don't capture the maid (and maybe no acts of infamy, but I am not sure) no agents will come over, you can build a base and make money in peace. When you have a control room you can send out workers and have them stealing. At this point you can just leave the computer. I had 50 workers out in the world before going to bed last night, came back from work and now I have 15 million.
Yeah, but why make trillions, when you can make... billions?
