Dear Rockfish!
I don't usually rant, and when i do it's with good deal of self-irony - so please bear with me on this one. As i think it has a good point in it.
Few days ago, i sold my -50% lock time bomber, for i found another striker which i just had to buy, and i had no more free slots. This new one was used in my last "1.76 trillion m/s" video in discord. Great-looking, good-handling ship. And it has my favorite passive on it, too!
I know i'll probably won't find another same striker in a million years. So i just had to buy it.
I know same thing about my previous striker, too - the one with great big engines, same body / cockpit shapes (my favorite), and again my favorite passive. So i have to keep both - can't sell them.
Next, i also have a bomber with +ARC9k damage passive and good paints. Would be a shame to sell that one too.
4th slot is a gunship with exactly the passive i want, too - pulse laser turret, i need one for one specific gameplay kind i have in mind.
And last slot is a scout, again with my favorite perk, which i must have for its unique long range combat ability as well as outstanding handling in races.
And now, i want me an interceptor to try my rapid autocannon with its Ult.
But as you can see, i can't get it!
Already "sacrificed" that good bomber for an awesome striker, and it didn't quite feel good.
Now, am i to sacrifice another ship to just get an intereptor?
What happens if i'd want, at some point, to try something fancy with a Sentinel?
It's been merely couple weeks since April update, i started me a new save - but look at me, already having bad feelings about being forced to sell ships i'd very much prefer to keep. At this pace, what'll happen in a month or two? Ouch!
And what will happen when bombers, gunboats, scouts would all have their own massive selection of various wings, cockpits, engines?
It's a freakin' nightmare to imagine!
And worst of all, this system - works against your most devoted, most spreading-good-word players: the more they play, the more this limitation of "after 5, gotta sacrifice some ship to get any new one" will affect 'em.
Further, there is competition in this regard, too. Look at all the auto sims, and at lots of space sims, and at lots of all kinds of vehicle-based looter-shooter, like Mechwarrior Online. How many "pilotable craft" players have in all those very popular and very well known titles?
Dozens. At times, many dozens. Like over a hundred Mechs for any devoted MWO player.
Over. A. Hundred.
So, i know it ain't right. I know at this point of EA and at this date since April update, real few people if any would come here and do a rant similar to this one. But it'll grow worse and worse as more ship classes, customizations, tiers are added...
Please, do somethin'!!! %)
Love,
Fins. ^^
