RFG_Ingmar: Well sorry to hear this. Our last patch (v0.4.16428 2021-02-04) did improve performance for people experiencing issues especially on older systems. One change was making DirectX11 (dx11) the default. Maybe running in dx12 would have helped in your case.
If it was only for input lag (and not FPS), you would want to set input to 'system mouse' from ingame options.
But judging from your msg you found this option.
We fully understand that Early access isn't for everyone. Maybe you want to give ES2 a try at full release.
Meanwhile, could you please be so kind to let us know your system specs?
Also any information on your peripherals would be highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Ingmar
Basti-Blub: Hi!
First: I dont know how i could change which DirectX will be used. Was/Is there an option somewhere?
Second: Its not FPS, they are stable. Its the movement of the mouse in options (its like i move it and there is a small deley) AND the movement ingame - Its either so fast, that i cant hit anything at all or so slow, that i cant turn fast enough to follow the enemies. The ingame settings doesnt help at all so as i said, i tried to alter them in windows options. Didnt do the trick either.
Third: My specs are
GeForce GTX 1070
Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3,40GHz
16 GB Ram
SSD
3840x2160, 60Hz
Windows 10
Razer Abyssus - Mouse
Speedlink Ultor - Keyboard
I think its sad too, that i have that kind of problems with the controls. I wouldnt refund it now and would wait but if the problem still stands later on, worst case would be i have i game i "cant" play. But yeah, i will try it for sure, the moment its fully released :)
Hi Basti,
Sorry for the delay, I wanted to check back with RFG_Andi first. He for sure knows everything about the input system!
(1) Okay first of all, I noted that your graphics card (even if it is a decent one) might be pushed quiet hard if playing in fullscreen at 4k (3840x2160). If you have a one-monitor setup I would advise to use 'Fullscreen' mode at 2560x1440 (mabye for testing even 1920x1080). If you have an multi-monitor setup I would advise to use 2560x1440 (or 1920x1080 for testing) in 'Window' mode.
Note that a high resolution weights much heavier on the GPU than high details at a lower resolution. The game can feel quiet sluggish at high resolutions (without stuttering).
(2) If the controlls still feel off when using a lower resolution, you might want to got to 'Settings > Input > Mouse & Keyboard'. Set Mouse Position to 'Operating System'. That should suffice.
All other options can be set to your personal taste:
Feel the ship is reacting too slowly => reduce Mouse DeadZone
Got the feeling the ship can'f fly straight => Increase Mouse DeadZone
Feel the whole Controlls are too wobbly => Set crosshair Behaviour to Centered (you probalby prefere this if you played space sims like Elite before)
Best Regards,
Ingmar
