Dear community
I used to play Everspace 2 on my MAC Studio using MacOS 14. After upgrading to MacOS 15 Sequoia the game crashed when trying to start it. Analyzing the issue I found out, that it didn't find the library libmetalirconverter.dylib anymore.
I am not sure, if that library gets removed by upgrading to Sequoia or if I just was "unlucky".
Since I have an Apple developer account, I downloaded the official Metal_Shader_converter package, which contains the aforementioned library. After having put the library in the folder containing my GOG games, the game started just fine. The directory seems to be part of the search path (I extracted that from the crash log).
Did anyone else running this game on Mac experience something like that on MacOS 15 Sequoia?
If this was a general problem with MacOS 15, this could be easily fixed by providing the missing library with the game installation. But this is something the game developers would need to fix, I guess.
All the best
