When I attempt to open the game, I receive the error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)." I'm not able to find information on any forums related to this one.

I updated my windows drivers, restarted. Tried again.

I uninstalled and restarted. Then updated my graphics drivers. No luck.

Uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, still the same issue.

Geforce GTX 660 Ti graphics card, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit on my comp, I'm not certain what I should do in this case. Of course their support strictly recommends against installing separate dlls, but in this case I don't even know if it's related to anything like that.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode/running as admin?

Maybe re-download the installer from GOG to make sure you have the most up to date version, it may well be that when you downloaded it from GOG, it corrupted the application (Unless you're using Galaxy).

I tried what you said, redownloaded it with a clear install and restart just in case, still receiving the same error.

I tried their steps for installing the Unreal stuff manually on their forums, and joined their forums, but for some reason I can't find where to post. I guess I can't just join and post or something, but not sure what else to do.

Any other thoughts?

Is there anything in C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\RSG\Saved?
If so, look in the logs folder and open 'CrashContext.runtime-xml' and see if there are any obvious errors.

The '0xc000007b' error isn't application specific, I found this, so it might be that you need to download the corresponding .dll files for the game to work.

If you have no luck, send an email to ROCKFISH directly and see if they can help.

I ended up emailing them, basically they specifically say not to install individual .dlls. It appears it was something related to C++ runtime, but I didn't get more details. For some reason my 64-bit wasn't working, but when I manually tried the 32-bit from their subfolder, it worked fine.

I have no idea why, and submitted info to them to see if it was anything related to the game and my setup, but otherwise 32bit exe works.
