I got the game up and running in Linux (Manjaro) and I bought a Hotas X Flight Stick to play with it. The OS detects the joystick just fine (hardware configuration registers all buttons and analog movements) but when I try to set it up in game, it registers nothing from the joystick.

I know that analog movements should be bound on axis movements but even something simple like a button press to shoot doesn't register in game when I'm trying to configure the controls. I read in the change logs that Hotas support was implemented and I installed the game about 2 weeks ago, so it should be at least close to up-to-date.

Is there something I'm missing to get the game to see the joystick?
Hi Myndflyte,
I'm sorry that I have to inform you that the Linux version does not provide joystick support. This is due to the fact that the plugin we use for joystick input is not working for Linux and we decided against porting it. So I'm afraid you'll have to stick to mouse/keyboard input, which is also the way the game primarily was made for.

Thanks for the response. At least I know it wasn't something I was doing then. I will say that using an Xbox 360 controller does work though, so that's at least a compromise.
I've found that using qjoypad to translate my joystick events to mouse and keyboard events works really well for this game.

I played EVERSPACE (version 1.3.5.3655) on Linux Mint with an Logitech F710 gamepads and also a F310.
In the menus, I instinctively used the mouse for convenience, and everything went well :-)

EVERSPACE 2 under Linux, will it support the joystick ?
Did you change plugin?
Did you port your plugin to Linux?
I really liked your game, it would certainly be even more immersive with a joystick.
Thank you :-)

I wonder if it would work if we tried running the Windows version of the game in Wine or Proton with the joystick.
