is there any way to properly map a joystick for this game?
control options are lacking in this game, sad options when you click one or the other.

OK, i did the "dinput.dll" thingy, moved it to my documents and renamed it. and in the game in "controls" i checked/circled
from top to bottom, joystick*, throttle*, rudder*,pov hat*, in that order, seems to work fine now!!, now i have another problem??
any way to tag/ put tags on the planes ? like with red for the enemy or something? cuzz i havent any idea who is friend or foe?? lol

Use notepad to read your "eaw.ini" file, particularly the "[Remappable Keys]" section. Certain key-presses will highlight enemy or friendly planes if they are in range:

TARGET NEXT ENEMY=T
TARGET PREVIOUS ENEMY=SHIFT T
TARGET CLOSEST ENEMY=Joystick_Btn_7
TARGET NEXT FRIENDLY=Y
TARGET PREVIOUS FRIENDLY=SHIFT Y
TARGET CLOSEST FRIENDLY=Joystick_Btn_8

A small target box is displayed on the plane, red for enemy and green for friendly.

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for all my versions of EAW - the GoG version, 1.28c, 1.28E, 1.28F, 1.29, UAW140, UAW150 and UAW160.

ok thank you. i am going to have to map it a little different. its taking me awhile to get it down. i did shoot down my first fw190 the other day, and today i shot down 5 me109's lol, the typhoon is great, blows them up quick with its four 20mm cannons.i am going to try the tempest next. its starting to get fun now. still need lots of practice/work.
cant get used to IL-2, and still think microsofts combat flight sim 3 was funner/better lol.
