I just downloaded this game and when I try to start I get the following error message:
Error: "could not set joystick deadzone X properly." and the game will not start. Any suggestions out there??

No problems here with version 1.2, which is actually available for download.
Inside the installation folder of EAW try to locate the file "dinput.dll" and rename it to something else or delete it. This file is known to make some trouble with some sticks and / or gamepads. After renaming this file try to start the simulation again. It's one possible solution...

I found the answer and posted it to Simhq.

I have to have my G29 pedals on a Leo Boadnar Cable unplugged from the computer. If they are plugged in I get he error. I have tried combining the axis, and combining them using Vjoy/UCR with my HOTAS. I even used HID Guardian to "hide them" but if they are attached the game crashes--this is true of 1.28 and 1.2
