Hi!

I own the original EAW, and wanted to get it working again for multi-player. I first ran into the 7217 video problem, which itl ooks like I can work around with the eaw1.28efillversion patch.

However, now I get what I think is referred to as "screen tearing" (showing only half the screen, with teh lines all garbled so I can almost but not quite discern anything).

So I searched more, and came to the GOG release. I have a couple of questions:
Is it likely to work, addressing botth the screen tearing and 7217 issues?

Also, in looking through the comments, I can't tell what networking protocols it supports for LAN play? TCPIP? IPX?

Thanks
There have been screen tearing issues with EAW and certain graphics cards. I get it in Windows 7 when I am in mission parameters and try to choose the target or the home base.
I do not get it in multiplayer as the map screen is not used and although I get it in Windows 7 I do not get it in Windows 10.
What I do get in Windows 10 is a reduced frame rate.
The solution that works for me is to use the d3dwindower program to launch EAW in Windows 7.

There is virtually no EAW online except for a handful of people. I fly with a small group of people at GameRanger. We use UAW160. I can give you more details when you get EAW working.

Edit
I just ried the GoG version of EAW1.2 in windows 7 and the map screen was OK.
I also have the GoG version of 1.28 which was released in error, and once again the map screen was OK.
