It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So, I finally decided to download Europa Universalis and get started on, you guessed it, taking over the world. (Of course!) However, no matter what I do, the game does not launch for me at all. Even when I open file location and click on the things I think would make it start up. Does anyone know what to do? I'm on Windows 10 for reference.

You do realise that for EU 1 there is no WIn10 mentioned on the store page?. You try to contact support.
But as you also do not specify if you get any error or what you are trying to start nothing we can do to help really.
I've got the same issue I think.

Granted, I didn't check to see if it was W10 compatible, so if it isn't, my bad.

Basically, when I double click on the laucher, nothing happens. Checking Task Manager, I can see that Europolis.exe is running, but basically thats all.
Ignore me.

Found the solution in the very next thread.

Found the solution in the very next thread.
And you could have posted how :P
(don't want to take credit but as the original poster seems not to be so active)

And to have a thread with a direct visible solution ;)

Found this thread by accident. If anyone still cares, this problem is easily solved by deleting winmm.dll; or download the modified dlls from this thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/354430/discussions/0/490123938438643804/

the ancient version of winmm.dll bundled with EU1 does not work in Windows 10.

So all credit goes to seeker010!!!!!

As you can not create a post yourself and mark it at the same time as solution if you could do so with this one, I think that will help everyone with Win10 ;)
Problem solved with substitution of winmm.dll in the main folder of the game with the winmm.dll found in the zip file linked here:

www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_xwing_and_tie_fighter_series/new_winmmdll_fix_remastered_edition_on_windows_10

I had the same problem consisting of a no start up either by launching the game.exe or from gog galaxy on windows 10.
