After playing through Etherlords 2 several times, i though i would try Etherlords 1

I start the single player campaign, first map is a breeze, second map is ok... there is a dryad and razor monster that cannot be defeated, but just those two, then later on invincible enemy hero shoes up and there is just no chance, no chance in hell of beating it. to start with but in the end impossible to beat. The reason is the enemy hero somehow gets unreasonably strong. First i tried it on normal difficulty, no way, then easy, still no dice!

I have not tried it on the easiest possible level yet, i guess i will be doing that next, but i doubt it will make any difference?

I found some old posts about this game, apparently i am not the only one stumped by this difficulty nonsense - there is no difficulty level low enough to make the game viable to play - uninstall time, and i'm off to write a fire and brimstone review.

Here is a question to the game developers - do you know the difference between hard and easy game difficulty levels? Because, that's NOT IT!
Well, I'm having trouble on level 2. The first one after the tutorial.

I can't defeat the kobold guarding the spell shop with my cantrip deck. And without better spells from the shop, I can't prgress much further either. Am I doing anything wrong?
For anyone still struggling with it, here is a video with a strategy:

Arguably, it is the most difficult part (according to the author of the video, who finished all campaigns), but it doesn't mean it gets easy later on. It's going to stay difficult.
Having finished the Good campaign, I have to say, Mission 3 was the only difficult one. And the solution there is to rush (as in the video above). After that it actually gets easier. In 4 you have to hurry, though you don't need to rush like in 3; just don't dawdle. 5, 6 and 7 are fairly easy. Maybe it's because at this stage you pick up a good strategy.
And finished both campaigns.

Levels 2-3 are the hardest. 4-7 are fairly easy. Crazy difficulty curve.

Congrats for finishing it.... i wont be doing it, ever.
I got better games to focus on rather than sweating on games with broken easy difficulty levels.
