Did you try co change the compatibility mode? Setting it for Windows XP for example?
Yes I did. Have tried everything suggested I can find........:-(
I am having the same issue - WIndows Vista, Alienware Area 51 M15X - It does occasionally work, I have not been able to figure out why. Tried in combinations of using the link, activating the executable, being in compatability mode, running as an admin, rebooting PC, even changed between windowed, full screen, altered graphics options, but I cannot get this to work consistently. (through sheer stubbornness, I have been able to get it to work... sometimes. = P)
I have this same problem. It started once, I played for a couple hours, and now when I try to start it up, it changes the resolution, flashes to black, waits several seconds, then crashes to desktop.

I'm running Windows Vista, have tried all the compatibility modes without success.
