When my character moves through the world his animations don't actually happen. He does face and swing during combat, but walking is based on his last direction, ie if I was facing north when combat ends and I move south, I'm walking backwards. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Try loading a save prior to whichever are you're in. My guess is that something may have become corrupted in how the file was loaded.

Either that or try transitioning/quick-travel to a different area and see if it persists.

This issue has occurred from the first game and on. I could try another install I suppose, but there is a post about this issue on the Basalisk forums, but they aren't available atm

Is it permanent, or does quitting and loading back in fix it? Maybe it is a driver issue?

I just reinstalled the game and it's back, probably an Nvidia driver issue or something. The character only animates on combat moves

Try compatibility mode.

Tried many combinations there, no change at all. Appreciate the help, but I think I'll just deal with a non-animated sprite until google actually turns up an answer.

Loose files from many updates that required a restart fixed this. As always, restart to create world peace ;)

Good to hear something worked out. I guess make sure there's nothing hanging around the computer. Strange for an indie game, but there we are.
