Spoiler alert:


So I'm down in the moonrise underground but I'm stuck due to some stupidity of my own. I forgot to open the prison and went to talk to the monster and get thrown in the prison to be ate by the basilisk, I planned this of course and used a portal spell before I went in thinking the center cage had no way out like the repository in book 2... turns out the basilisk dropped a key. So I got out of the center section and realized I forgot to open the prison. No big deal I whipped out my portal spell and "spihhhhs" There is a magic dampener in place and I can't use the spell. Is there some hidden thing I don't know? or does someone have an idea of how I can fix this?

My auto save is screwed up because when I got the key I thought I was golden and saved over it. My last save prior to that was 3 hours prior.

There's got to be an exit, but I couldn't find it, although it might be that the exit gate had to be opened from the other side before going in the jail, which is not exactly helpful when you are already there. Otherwise once the developer's forums are back up, they are good at providing fixes when people do get stuck.

yea there is an opening if you come from outside the jail. Its a combo lock on the wall next to the jail. So your assessment is spot on. Don't make my mistake :P

I'll be messaging the devs after their site comes back up. Thanks for the suggestion.
