Book 1:

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, as I'm only at level 3, but I can't seem to be able to kill Fungal Slimes. Both with a bow and with a sword, mostly I miss, but when I hit them, I do no damage. (My bow skill is 3, and I have no sword skill)

Do I need a certain type of weapon or skill or magic spell to do damage to Fungal Slime?

Any suggestions?

I've only played as casters, and have no problem killing them with fire dart. At low levels, your weapon skills won't be the hottest. Are you playing book 1? It may be that your skills aren't high enough, or your strength isn't high enough. If they're too tough, then explore elsewhere. There are other foes you can fight, and come back when you're better in combat.

I guess the problem (bug?) has somehow worked itself out. When I tried again in a different map section, I was able to kill fungal slimes fairly easily. Maybe the slimes I encountered in the previous area were of a higher level (it was dark so I couldn't see them very well). I don't know, but I'm still enjoying the game, and am moving on now.

That's was the problem. Darkness counts in this game: darkness == low hit rate.
