Hello guys, I have some silly questions.

I've found potions, ingredients, and consumables. Now, how ingredients and alchemy work seem quite straightforward. You get the books to have precise formulas, or you go a bit blindly hoping to find them.

Potions, on the other hand: how do I know what one of them does? The game only tells me its name and that I can drink it; from the name, I can guess what it does, but how can I be sure?

The same goes for consumables. I can eat them, but how do I know what they do?

The only silly question is the one not asked :) Anyway you might find this website useful;

For consumable info go here;

and for potions;

Hope this helps.

Thank you, it helps for sure.

I actually already knew this wiki.

My question was more game-mechanics-wise. I mean: to read the wiki is like metagaming. To save, try a potion/scroll, see what it does and then reload too.

So, I was wondering if there is any game mechanics to know about these things gamewise
In the end, I found the solution and it was easier than I tought...

When a merchant has any scroll, potion, objet, instead of clicking it with the left mouse to buy it, you can right click and you'll have all the informations in the log...
yep alchemy is amazing in the game and any character should be versed in it in order to make the best potions and to enchant equipment to the highest (+3) level in book 1.

you need 9 alchemy normal and will boost it when crafting with 2 +3 alchemy rings to 15, the level you need to enchant your armor and weapons +3. Also tier 3 potions hehe much better than tier 1 potions.

So train alchemy at bordertown to +5, use a book to +7 and then add in 2 more points. That and your +3 rings are all you need for awesome potions and enchantments.

It is essential to do it in the right order: do NOT spend skill points before the 5th training level, this will waste 2 skill points from your total supply, which is limited by level 21 being the highest available. Also do NOT read the book before all 5 trainig levels, which will waste 1 skill point.

Money is NOT limited in the game, and it is not hard to get to Bordertown as a low level character – simply run away from strong enemies out of the current map or into a town, where citizens will help you (just make sure, they don't get killed themselves).

15 points in total including 2 rings worn aren't sufficient for the level III invisibiliy potion, however. This one needs a skill of 20, which requires 7 instead of 2 additional "level-up skill points", which isn't really worth it. Everything else can be made with level 15.
