One of the screenshots for Eschalon 2 indicates that I can disable hunger and thirst, which to me is one of the most annoying "features" of some RPGs - the reason why I probably missed out on some great games. Can somebody confirm this as true (for Eschalon 1 & 2)? Thanks.

There are no hunger/thirst stats in the first episode so they don't exist in this one (I only launched the game 10min ago).

Ah, ok. The screenshots of Eschalon 1 should have told me as much. I will give it a shot and buy the two games. Thanks for your answer.
In my own opinion, these games offer more replayability and are much better than Fallout 1 and 2. I gave up on fallout 1 and refused to try any other games in that line after the military base bullshit. After I tried Eschalon book 1, I initially didn't think I would like it because of fallout. After coming up with a cool combination in book 1, I made a character that specialized in speed and dagger skill. It was no doubt one of the most fun times I had in a game and imo much more fun than fallout.

If anything, more companies should try and copy Basilisk Games as this is some quality rpg gaming.
I was wondering this myself. At the beginning of the game you are given the options to disable hunger and thirst. But from all that I have found throughout the Nets, , if you enable it in the beginning you are stuck for the rest of the game. I have put in about 10 hours and I am thinking of restarting with the hunger and thirst disabled. Thinking about it . . .
