I just bought this game, so it's the latest update. When I use the Xinput gamepad, the analog stick works fine, but the buttons respond really slow. When I push a button it responds in about 10 - 15 seconds later.
I'm using Windows 10. The Xinput gamepad I use is by Elecom, a Japanese make.

10 seconds? Wow, that's a huge discrepancy, and I'm not sure where it would be coming from.

If you take a look in your install directory, you should see a number of DLLs. Could you try removing all of the following files and see if anything changes?

d3d9.dll
d3d11.dll
dxgi.dll
GogGalaxyHooks.dll
Galaxy.dll
GalaxyCSharpGlue.dll
GalaxyPeer.dll

I removed the DLL files and didn't see the GalaxyPeer file in the folder, but nothing changed except that the buttons only worked at the intro menu and selecting my character; After that, it didn't respond at all. The start button for the menu worked if I pressed it several times. When I resumed the game, the A button worked one time and didn't respond after that. The buttons work one time after I resume the game from the pause menu.
I solved the problem by buying a new gamepad, LOL. I've been wanting to buy a Logitech F310 gamepad for awhile and it was on sale today for $19.99. I tried it with ETG and it works with no issues. I guess ETG has a problem with the Japanese ELECOM gamepad model# JC-U3613M. I've only had a problem with ETG when using the ELECOM gamepad. If ETG is available in Japan, you may hear about issues over there. BTW, my WIndows 10 was bought in the USA and not in Japan. I'd still like to use the ELECOM pad with ETG because it's very comfortable.
If you can figure out a way to get it to work with ETG, I'd really appreciate it.

It looks like your joystick supports both DirectInput and XInput; many PC games only work with XInput, and while Gungeon supports both, it can sometimes get confused when one controller is reading as both. Please try going to the Controls menu and change Controller Mode to "XInput Only"

Let me know if that helps!

It worked! I set the controller mode to "Xinput Only" and it works like a charm. I should have checked the settings in the menu before. Thanks for your help.
BTW, when you asked me to remove those DLL files before, I noticed that the game didn't crash on exit. Just thought I'd tell you in case you didn't know. Anyway good luck on that fix and love the game.

Thanks, it seems like this crashing on exit issue may be caused by those who don't have GOG Galaxy installed; we're looking into this now!
Actually, I have GOG Galaxy installed, but I play my games offline because I have limited Internet connection data. For now, I use Galaxy to just update my games. Next month I'm looking forward to having a better Internet connection, so I'll be able to play with Galaxy online.
I hope the info helps.
