Just curious as to why the title item isn't affected by any sort of shop discount effects, as the only way to get it is through the shop.

It´s a special item relevant to the main plot. You´ll understand, when you meet a special npc.

I'm sorry, I thought it was implicit that I was already aware of the item's purpose. And the NPC. And the other relevant items.

All I'm saying, though: it's still a shop item. Why no discounts? I'm really irked that one run I'm trying to collect those items as I go, I ended Chamber 2 just a little bit short on funds to buy it, and no items available for stealing. And I was playing Pilot; logic dictates he ought to pay 99 on an item that normally costs 110.
Well, I think it´s for balancing purposes, so that it won´t become to easy for the pilot character to bring the Primer to the relevant npc. I guess...
In my experience so far, merely adding the Primer to inventory is, at best, one third of the process.

I mean... the Hollow. That is by no means an easy level.
