I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I bought Apache Havoc and tried to get it to run on my computer. The game will install and start up fine. I can load a mission with no problem. However, about 30 seconds after the game world loads and I'm in the cockpit the whole thing just stops. I've disabled uac completely, I tried setting the processor affinity with no luck. Any suggestions? The game is currently unplayable.
I tried changing detail levels from high to low with no effect. It appears that when I take off it will run smoothly until I get about 50ft off the ground and the whole thing just locks up. Also, if it's raining the framerate chugs to a frame every other second.

Could you post your system specs please?
The only thing I can recommend for now is to try running it under the different compatibility OS settings so windows xp etc.
Sorry, I should have put them in. I'm running a Dell Precision M4400 with an Intel Core 2 Due T9900 3.06ghz with 4gb of ram. The video card is an Nvidia Quadro FX 1700M with 512mb of dedicated memory. I can play games like Left 4 Dead with no issues running at 75fps with everything cranked. The gog installer installed it and set it to run in compatibility mode for Windows 2000. I've set it to run as Administrator and turned off UAC. I have also set the affinity to one processor. The game seems to freeze up when I gain alltitude and the game has to fill in the environment.
I was thinking of getting the second game and installing the 1.12 "patch" but if I can't get this one to run there is no point in buying the second game.

So I broke down and purchased Comanche vs Hokum and that works perfectly fine under Windows 7 64bit and it allows me to play the Apache Havoc campaigns.

Glad to hear that you got it working with buying the second game. GOG should be working on win7 compatibility for all its games in the near future so hopefully people that want one game won't have to buy both to get it to run on win7 when that happens.

Good to know that GoG is actively working on Win7 compatibility. But, FYI: in order to play the A vs H campaigns using C vs H (ie, being able to use ALL available 'copters), you're still going to have to buy both games! Just make sure you install both to the same folder.
