I've been playing the game and it's fun enough, but the window insists upon being always on top, and if it loses focus (such as being minimised to force it to stop obscuring other windows), it crashes. Is there a patch or anything to solve this, or am I saddled with yet another game with problematic video?

Actually a lot of games do this.

I've never heard of a patch fixing this. But if you don't mind me asking, why are you playing in windowed mode in the first place? It doesn't change the fact that this should be fixed (to bad support was dropped) I'm just wondering.

I don't play games in full screen, because I have to be open to being notified at any moment's notice in case anything happens due to certain responsibilities I have. Therefore I only ever play in a window, because otherwise I have to switch between full-screen and my desktop and also chance missing a cruciel time-sensitive issue.

And you're like that every hour of the day that you're awake? ... Lol.. Sounds like you're playing at work for some reason.

Sad to say there isn't much you can do though. This is an old game, thus it will have issues.

That is remarkably unhelpful. Oh well, I suppose it's another unfortunately wasted purchase on a game that should've been confirmed stable before being released.
