90% of the time that i press the F key to drink a healing potion, nothing happens. weather i am moving or not, in combat or not it doesnt seem to matter, i just randomly sometimes can draink a healing potion, but mostly it doesnt work and i end up spending 10g to respawn.

is this a game mechanic i dont understand, or a bug? why would the game allow me to carry five healing potions, be very low on health, but not use the potions?

thanks
same problem here in the demo, wanted to test it a bit before buy...
Same issue here. Pretty frustrating. Also tried to remap the potion key, but no change. Help!
same problem here :(
Unfortunatly i got the same problem. Remapping the key didn't help either. Nor did unplugging my joypad, as i thought maybe it would interfere with the game. It's pretty frustrating to die so unnecessarily when i had 5 potions in the inventory.
got this problem as well, what can sometimes happen is a spam the F key noting happens then i run around a bit till i run into an enemy and then i drink as soon as they spawn wile im not even pressing the F key. i once had it happen as soon as i respawned that was a bit of a kick in the crotch i tell you.
Yes, hammering the F key, looking around with the mouse or moving a few steps at the same time seem to work most of the time. This takes time however, and is only an option when there are no enemies around. Also. this still doesn't works always and of course not when you really need it. ;-)
In W7 try setting compatibility to xp sp3 and disabling Visual themes, desktop composition and run as Administrator.

This cleared the potion problem for me.
I had the same issue in the full game, but after a bit it cleaned up. Not sure what I did. Just seemed after playing the game a bit it fixed itself.
Found a fix. This game is really sensitive to your mouse polling rate. Changing the polling rate to 125hz fixed this issue as well as removing movement stutter in the game.

About two thirds of GOG's catalogue were "dead" for a long time, a good portion for quite a while longer. I say kudos to people who take their time to write down the tips for a random googler stuck on a bug, today (whenever their today is).

Thanks a lot, this paired with compatibility options fiddling seemed to fix it for me, mostly. Turning off "enhance pointer precision" in mouse properties within control panel upped the consistency. Still occurs, but a lot less often and almost always disappears after app restart.
Thanks for the huge help in trying to drink potions.
