I'm new to GOG, so maybe this is a dumb question, but is it normal that the game asks for a product key after the first start up? Not that this is affecting me as I still have my old key from like 15 years ago (wonder I could find it), but I'm guessing a lot of people don't have that key anymore.

That's normal on cd version, for GOG version I don't know. But if it require cdkey, there may be one in your GOG library.

Thanks, there is no key when I click More in my Gog library.

Here, you can use mine, PCXX-GGT8-4G3A-444J-7FA7 , but you can find many more online by searching "empires dawn of the modern world serial key" ...
Also, download gameranger and come play online !
