I'm sorry for creating yet another "Empires: Dawn of the Modern World crashes at launch" thread, but I've gone through all the existing ones to no avail, and I was just wondering if anyone has any new solutions.

When I try to launch the game, it shows the log and immediately tells me "empires_dmw.exe has stopped working". I've tried to:
* Rename or delete the movie files
* Install with Gog Galaxy
* Install with the offline install file
* Install as administrator
* Install as non-administrator
* Reinstall June 2010 DirectX runtime package
* Install DirectX Web Installer
* Use every combination of the compatibility settings ("Windows XP", "Run as administrator", "Reduced colour mode", etc)
* Disable my antivirus
* Install in a virtual machine running Windows 7
* Uninstall the game and use the "Play without installation" files uploaded to this forum.

Are there any other tips? I eventually got Empire Earth to work by replacing the dll files in the game folder, but I don't know if that would work for Empires.
