i have won with all other nations but, every time i play with france i lose. that is something that should be rebalanced.

Actually I find France very powerful. The economy is very fast, allowing you to create a lot of military units.
I suggest you focus more on the economy, particularly at the beginning. Did you know that you can put up to 8 citizens on apple trees and on gold / stone mines ? It is a great advantage since you extract much more ressources. Also use walls, they can take a lot of damage.
