I updated my Windows 7 64bit Home Ed yesterday and tried starting EE (the first game) and started the German campaign just now with no problems.

Thats sort of why I am conffused ,sure it could crash like any 'old' game if you hade something in the background.
But it used to boot up fine :/

but now I can litery not even boot it up despite it having my comps 'undevided attention' ,and I run a decently often uppdated 'old' win 7 proffesional edition so I shouldet have any of the win 8-10 fuckery going on.
I report the very same problem on my Windows 7 machine
Same problem, Sometimes I litteraly have to start the game up to ten times until it decides to work. Otherwise it crashes after the cinematic.
Then I have to be lucky because it usually crashes when I load my savefile.

So yeah my only solution is just to start and pray. Switching compatibility mode between one or two crashes might work, it did for me, but it might just be random luck.
Maybe DgVoodoo can help, but bad stuff happened when I tried to use it with this game, so be careful.
