Anyone have an actual fix for this yet? Some of the other links above no longer work, or are only for EE2.
I'm looking for help with EE1, on Windows 8.

I've tried fixing the resolution, but as it's a laptop, it doesn't help much.

The game opens and goes to the smallest possible resolution, and when I try and launch a game, it freezes on a loading screen.

I've got EE2 elsewhere, and it won't even download, and I haven't even tried EE3.

All I want is help with EE1. I thought GOG would have sorted this, or someone would have piped up, from the company, with some kind of help.
