I, like many people here, have had the "freezing" problem with Empire Earth on Windows 10. Neither the patch nor the 3d Analyzer tool fixed it.

However, I finally managed to start the game and play around on a random match for a while without any problems simply by going into the game folder and turn off compatibility mode for the EE executable.

I suggest you guys and gals give it a try and see if it helps.

The compatibility mode is always turned off by default. Probably some other fix you applied solved the issue, but the compatibility mode (which you probably enabled earlier) was blocking it.

I've been having an issue running the game too. My question is how do I turn off the compatibility mode for the game?

Just bought this game and compatibility mode was enabled by default. So it's actually being set enabled either by GOG or something else. My guess is GOG set it enabled because it's usually needed for older games.

Interesting. They indeed like to change default settings (sometimes to worse, like windowed mode in EE2).
Did it actually work fine for you with enabled compatibility settings? Or you had to disable them in order to launch the game?

Same here, I can change using the compatibility troubleshooter, but these settings don't save. 'Run in compatibility' is set to XP sp2 and is completely greyed out

A simple way to change greyed-out comp. modes would be to hit 'Apply for all users' at the very bottom of the compatibility tab (you may need to change the settings twice after this, not sure). Restarting the PC can also 'ungrey' them in my experience.

Brilliant, thats sorted it. I've set compatibility to Windows 8 and it runs fine
