It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hey,
I can launch EE fine, all intro movies play, and I can navigate the menus successfully. However, when I get to the screen that describes the objectives for a mission, when I click the button to play the mission (the one with the green check on it), the game crashes. I'm not terribly techy, but I've tried all of the compatibility modes and searched the internet to no avail.
Computer Specs:
Windows 7 64 Bit
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD
DirectX 11
(let me know if you need more info)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Are you running it as an admin? Also I have a feeling if that doesn't work its going to be down to your graphics chipset, this game does not seem to like intel chipsets.
Doesn't work for me either with window xp. Clow-level-engine.dll
Pressing play random map crashes it. All the internet fixes don't work.
Not what you're looking for, and not helpful, but Win7 64-bit has issues with so many games, I finally reformatted and installed the 32 bit version. Haven't had a problem since.

Downloading Windows XP Mode may work :

I think that this may also work for Still Life too. Thank you so much for suggesting it.
I used to have the exact same problem as the original poster with EE Gold on an older XP machine with a Radeon card (never got that machine to run it) and the same problem was repeated just now with my Win7/Radeon machine and the GOG version. I'm sure people have tried this already, but I got it working by:
1. running as admin
2. not choosing any other options in compatibility mode
3. in the settings screen off the main in-game menu, consistently forcing it to use my ATI card rather than system default and choosing TnL rendering. Would NOT work without TnL.
So it's mostly an issue with it recognizing Radeon graphic cards? Thanks for that advice.

I was just doing to add that in reference to the XP mode you also need instructions from this site:
