Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there a contract to get Empire Earth 2 as well? Is it as good as Empire Earth?
Thank you. :)
There's no point in asking, without official word from GoG nobody knows whether game X will appear in the catalogue in the future, and GoG does not give out information on this on per-request basis.
As for EE1 vs EE2, well, in my opinion EE1 is the best of the series still. EE2 is still a good game (and vastly superior to the crappy EE3). But EE1 wins that contest for me.

Very briefly, Yes! It is a bit more complex but it's definitely worthwhile.
We tried it, but it didnt give us the good old EE feeling :(
EE2 is somewhat like Empire Earth meets Rise of Nations.
I think it is even slightly better than the original, as there is much more room for customization before starting a skirmish/mulriplayer game. However, the pathfinding AI is too many times pretty horrible, which is annoying.
I played a quick EE2 skirmish the other day to remind myself...
- It's harder. The AI is persistent and varied.
- The "technology points" thing is very clever. You can study certain techs or let the points build up so you can advance an age sooner (much better than having resources to advance an age).
- Spies can be as frustrating as prophets are in EE1
- There's less focus on masses of citizens populating buildings.
- Markets!
Much more of course, these are things you'd notice right off in a skirmish though.

EE2 is really, really bad....no comparison to the perfect gameplay of EMPIRE EARTH. It was made by another group who COMPLETELY missed the point of the original - ITS THE GAMEPLAY! Not the graphics, detail, complexity or whatnot. Sort of like Chess which has been popular for 1400 years....even though a small child could make the game in woodshop, the game will still be around for Commander Spock to play in the future (right after he exits Empire Earth). No sir, Designer Rick Goodman hit this one out of the park and nothing else comes close.

Uh, I'm not sure what you're talking about? I think you are referring to EE3 which is generally to be [url=http://pc.ign.com/articles/836/836093p3.html]really bad. The gameplay of EE2 is fundamentally the same as EE1.
Direct 2 Drive has Empire Earth 2 as part of their earth-shattering anniversary sale for $5.
I cannot stress enough how epic their sale is....they have had numerous AA and AAA titles for $5...with more to come.

Actually, there isn't more to come. It ends tomorrow.

Really? Wow, time flies! Well, I got the only DRm-free title they had that I didn't..>World in Conflict. For $5 it's an absolute steal. Hands down the undisputed best sale in DD history. Kudos to D2D for giving us a glimpse of DD, post retail.
Too bad I already had basically everything they put on that I was interested in. Still, was definitely a nice sale.

I grabbed World in Conflict (DRM free!) for $5, and East India Company for $5, since it uses Goo. I just installed in on Impulse!
Be sure to download the Director's Cut for EIC...oddly, it's labeled as a separate game but it's free if you have EIC already installed. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it adds some nice improvements, the biggest change being tactical land battles when you try to seize a port.

escapedturkey: ...Is it (Empire Earth II) as good as Empire Earth?

It isn't as good as Empire Earth in my opinion, but it is still pretty damn good. The additions and graphics are nice, but the game isn't as hard as Empire Earth was. At least not to me... I can beat an EEII skirmish in a couple of hours where I will struggle to even be equal with any competing civilizations on Empire Earth.
