It works well for some folks, not for other folks. GOG does not guarantee Windows 10 compatibility for either game at this point.

It (EE1 -- I've never played EE2) works perfectly on my machine and my brother's. We run Win 10.

I would recommend purchasing them, playing them immediately after purchase, and then if they don't work, ask for your money back that day.

By the way, they are often on deep discounts of 75%. So if you're on a tight budget and don't need to play the games right away, hang around for a few months and you'll get a good deal.

Given your second sentence they will have failed to meet the minimum requirements for the game. GOG isn't required to refund them in this case (unless that changed recently). They still may choose to, but it isn't guaranteed.

Oops. You're right. I thought there was a 14-day no questions asked. But I'm not seeing that. Nonetheless less, I'd personally give it a try. But there is a risk.
If you buy EE2 and it doesn't work for you, you can always install Unofficial Patch 1.5: https://www.ee2.eu/patch/
Which fixes all compatibility problems on new operating systems.
