the wife and i just bought empire earth 2 from gog.com after buying and liking the first one, from gog.com also. the problem is that every time we try and play a lan game in part 2 together a message pops up and says, "unable to join game, your cd key is currently in use. would you like to enter it again? man i don't know what to do, that is insane. if anybody could assist us with this we would be most greatful, because the only solution i can come up with is drinking a half gallon of crown royal and hoping it goes away on it's own. thanks.

Got a fix for EE2 instead? lol me and my mates have no issue with EE1, but I'm still having this problem with EE2 now.

Yea the fix is: shift delete EE2, and play EE1 :P

How about a fix that works? XD
Highly dissapointing. I bought the first game on gog, bought a gift for my brother (same, EE2) and it appears both have the same cd key and we can't play. As I see many people have the issue. Not nice to rip people off like that, gog. Or your system is that broken? I don't know, either way, you fucked up.
My son and I just purchased EE II and wanted to play each other. It requires the CD key for the ability to connect. When I purchased through gog.com, it did not come with the CD key. Can you please provide us with one.

Follow this link to send us a CD-Key request. Make sure you pick the right Problem type:
http://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/empire_earth_2_gold

You'll get your key as soon as possible. : )

JLHQUICK: Contacting GOG does not appear to be a solution. Here is the solution...but practitioners must be comfortable with changing 2 registry keys.
1. use regedit to search for the SIERRA folder.
Basically you are going to find the following locations under SIERRA...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sierra\Empire Earth II
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sierra\Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy
You will find the default (if you bought from GOG) key values in the CDKey value.

2. Do a search on the internet for "gamespy cd keys empire earth 2".
You should find some user forums where EE2 users are giving out their EE2 keys like water.

3. Enter some valid keys from your internet search to replace the default ones.
Some example keys are the following...I would supply some keys here, however I suspect that the post may be deleted if I did that.

4. Close regedit and play the game.... You will want to have a different key for each computer joining a multi-player game.
I dont find this folder :(
