Hey, I haven't bought it yet, just wondering if I do will I be able to use my one GOG copy (install it on two PCs) to play LAN with others? Or will there be a CD check thing preventing us?
there is no cd key check in EE(1) but there is one in EE2 and EE3, and you won't be able to play on LAN even if your friend buys a separate copy because apparently all EE2 (and EE3) games bought on gog have the same cd key. very frustrating. you can find another cd key online though.

Or you could send a ticket to support asking for your unique CD-key, like it says on the gamecard. At least for EE2.

Yes, you absolutely can play the first Empire Earth in LAN with no problems.

I got a copy of it during the GOG free promotion, and have played 2 LAN games with friends this past week. All on Windows 7 64-bit. No issues at all with networking, and as another poster said, no CD-Key nonsense.
where do you enter the key for empire earth 2 lan games
the answers with key are either a lie or gog changed / broke something. I always get the message "wrong cd key" when trying to connect lan to other player (EE1)

Install Unofficial Patch 1.5, it will be done automatically.

I have recently resurrected an old, non-gog copy of EE, and am trying to lan party with my brother, who has a GoG copy... but we can't seem to connect to each other with the appropriate IP.

Is it possible to lan between GoG and non GoG copies of the game?
