I play Emperor on linux using Wine, but I get no sound, neither music nor other effects. Other games (e.g. Diablo 2) do have proper sound, so this might not be a general problem. Any suggestions, where I should start investigating?
There are no additional problems playing this in Wine.

Ubuntu 16.10 Mate
wine-1.8.5 (Ubuntu 1.8.5-1ubuntu1)

There's a platinum result (GOG version) with Wine 2.0. You might want to upgrade with the official WineHQ packages.
