Possibly a silly question, but I need to be sure.

If a tech is proscribed, does that apply to everyone? Including the League? THe Church will go after them?

Cheers.
No such thing as a silly question, unless you are within earshot of an Inquisitor ...

The League is currently not set to research. Yeah, I know, sounds counter intuitive, but it is set that way for basic gameplay. You can change that setting in PlayerTable.dat

HDIAndrew:
:D haha
Thanks Andrew.
The League is also exempt from most tech restrictions in the setting's lore. Namely for the reason that without them, there'd be no more galactic church. Or galactic anything, for that matter.

Ahh ok, didn't know that. I really should read the books, have to find them first

You can derive a sizable amount of setting info from the in-game archives (accessible from the dropdown menu). From there, you can pick up more bits and pieces from the admittedly pretty sparse wiki. Or the surviving links in the old web ring, if you can find them (haven't gone looking in a long time but there were still a handful up a few years ago).

Yeah, it's a great read isn't it? Took me hours to get through the whole thing, really well written too.

Indeed. I couldn't hope to count how many times I've reread it all over the years. It's just a really interesting setting.
