Suddenly can't produce any units and lost all technology (see attached image), I'll try restarting and building another lab. Confused about taxes, they can be increased by a lot, loyalty goes 0 so that means no production but could just buy from the league, what is tithe skim even supposed to be?
Playing it on Windows 98 virtual machine, couldn't play on Windows 8.1, problem is it runs on 640x480 resolution and that makes the VirtualBox window too small for my liking, can I do anything about that?

Where should I expand? Malignatius looks promising since it has arborium and mine NE and I'm having trouble with food. Assault Landers are good but what should I do about the Bulk Hauler taking damage from landing?
edit: damage is variable, if it takes too much I can reload, but still some damage is inevitable.
edit 2: was repaired to 99% in the arborium (which produces 75 food) so it's alright.
there's this fusorium which is necessary for building ships, next to it there's this ruin with symbiots defending it...
there's also the fertile attribute and used my engineer to build a farm sw from the fusorium.

Found 2 farms on Icon, the lack of food is real bad since that means no new cities and low resource production, started building freighters to transport more tanks, no chemicals and ceramsteel yet. Researched frigates and assault landers, after researching cruisers what should I research next?
edit: Mibiam seems like a good place to expand after Icon, there's a group of 3 cities comprised of aborium, chemicals and bioplant, there's another group of cities protected by shield generator including a palace, are there benefits to acquiring a palace?
