Zyddie, the PB dev who is the community liason, said about a week ago that PB now has absolutely no plans on releasing the beta DX12 patch for the public.

That's right, boys and girls. Not only have we had to deal with presumptuous people telling us the game is running like garbage because our systems are crap (Spoiler: Our systems, are not crap) but now after 5 months of the beta patch being live only on steam and nowhere else, Zyddie says they're not even sure if they're ever going to release the DX12 patch.

This is a broken mess of a game that needed at minimum a performance/optimization patch just to get running properly but now that patch most likely will never see the light of day.

I owned both ELEX games on steam so I hit PB where it hurts on there - I removed them from my library. That counts as a net loss of players and game statistics, so I did what I could. I don't presume to tell you GOGlodytes what to do with your copies, but ELEX 2 is never getting fixed.

And before you blame THQN/Embracer Group, they have zero issues patching up any of their other games. This is purely a PB move because they moved 99% of their team to ELEX 3.

PB is not the PB you knew from the past. Those days are over. Instead, they do cash grabs and hope you won't raise too much of a fuss over it. I don't even think GOG knows that PB will never release an optimization patch on GOG, either.

I suspect this would qualify as a developer failing to support a broken product and also suspect the game could possibly be removed from sale. I mean, for those of you who have no problems with the game, I guess getting 24 fps in the Fort on certain ramps is ok.

Do what you will. I'm out from all things Piranha Bytes now and always going forward.

Source? I don't see Zyddie saying that exactly on the Steam forums, but fully agree that - true to their usual god-awful form - PB's level of communication and overall competence as developers are abysmal at best.

EDIT: OK, now I see this little number:

Truly pathetic.

Yeah it's very difficult to find. You have to read through an entire thread just to see it, it's not an "official announcement" just a message in the DX12 thread on Steam.

Have a good day, dude. I'm over the Elex hype.

They're still in your library, you merely chose them to not show !
